Club Rules (Page 2)

Election of members

Honorary Membership (other than temporary in accordance with rule 9) shall be strictly limited, and at the discretion of the Committee by way of reward for special services by members of the Club.

The Committee shall have the discretion to refuse membership applications, for whatever reason, if it is deemed to be in the interests of the Club as a whole.

Trustees

The Trustees shall be elected by the Committee and they shall respectively hold office until death or resignation unless removed from office by a resolution of the Committee.  The number of Trustees shall be not more than four nor less than two and the property of the Club (other than cash which shall be under the control of the Treasurer) shall be vested in them.  They shall deal with the property of the Club as directed by resolution of the Committee (of which an entry in the minute book shall be conclusive evidence) and they shall be indemnified against risk and expense out of the Club property. 

Suspension or expulsion

The Committee shall have the power to terminate or suspend the membership of any member or to exclude any member or visitor whom it considers guilty of a breach of these rules, or of misconduct or offensive behaviour to any other members, visitor or employee whether on the Club’s premises or elsewhere.

Injury, Loss of property

Members or visitors leaving unattended vehicles, racquets, clothing or other property at the club do so at their own risk, and the club shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury resulting from this or any other cause

Visitors and temporary members

Visitors may be introduced a maximum of 3 times per season and pay the appropriate fee to the Treasurer or any Committee member.  Temporary membership is available for periods of up to 2 weeks at the discretion of the Committee. 

Management

The Committee of the Club shall consist of the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Captain and a minimum of 2 other members.  All shall be elected for the year at the Annual General Meeting.  The elected Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy.  The majority of the Committee must be resident in Tysoe district.

The Committee shall elect members in accordance with rule 4, and shall from time to time make and revise the Club’s rules and regulations, and shall have the power to decide any matter un-provided for, by these rules and current regulations.  They shall meet at least four times in every year and additionally as circumstances may require.  The quorum at a Committee meeting shall be five, and must contain two out of the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.  In the event of equality of voting the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.

The Committee may delegate any part of its duties to one or more sub-committees which may be composed of any members of the Club, but any sub-committees to control a bar supplying intoxicating liquor shall be appointed with licensing requirements.
